During the late summer of 2023, with the encouragement of colleagues and friends, I launched the Reflections in Beige Podcast, an open-ended program dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary and high-signal discussions and conversations.

Beginning with a short series reflecting on my experience experimenting with artificial neural networks in graduate school, the podcast has grown to encompass everything from audio production, to stories about my experiences in the business world, to surveys of history, philosophy, and public affairs.

The podcast has featured interviews with artists and novel thinkers, and paved the way to my hosting interviews for other platforms, particularly for our partner publication, CryptoBit Magazine, where I also contribute as a technical and strategic advisor, event photographer, and occasionally assist in developing business relationships.

Though podcast episodes have been and continue to be hosted on SoundCloud, a number of listeners over the past several months have raised serious concerns about its user experience, which is characterized by invasive nag screens for non-users and a virtually unusable mobile version of the website for users and non-users alike.

In response to these complaints, I've launched BeigeMedia.org.

Powered by a lightweight content management system built from scratch over the past week, it offers a more user-friendly – or rather, a less user-hostile – alternative to SoundCloud for listening to episodes of the Reflections in Beige Podcast. It also marks the first big step towards a long-standing goal of expanding the podcast into a full-fledged media platform which features not just podcasts, but also writings and other content, and provides a collaborative medium for peers and colleagues to potentially contribute and showcase their own work.

I'm excited to see what unfolds in the next phase of this project.

Let's begin.
